Clippers May Not Sign Chris Paul

Chris Paul is an unrestricted free agent. He will not re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs, who have De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper

Paul has been heavily linked to going back to the Los Angeles Clippers, but Clippers beat reporter Law Murray of The Athletic doesn’t think it will happen.

“Chris is small, man,” Murray said. “Like, he’s small. He’s old. Like, that doesn’t go with who else is there. Like, where are the minutes gonna come from? We gotta see, but that’s not something that, let’s just put it this way, I’m probably gonna update the graphic in the next 48 hours.

“I’m not gonna have any spots for Chris Paul on it. So yeah, I would put that on the doubtful side of 50/50.”

Paul played in all 82 games for the Spurs last season. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 42.7% from the field, 37.7% from beyond the arc and 92.4% from the free-throw line.

A 12-time All-Star, Paul has played for the New Orleans Hornets, Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Spurs. He has career averages of 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 9.2 assists.

The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in seven games. They traded Norman Powell to the Miami Heat, acquired John Collins from the Utah Jazz and signed Bradley Beal
