The Los Angeles Clippers have done everything they can to turn themselves into contenders this offseason.
They traded for John Collins and signed Brook Lopez, Bradley Beal, and Chris Paul to fill a variety of needs on the team in an effort to improve on their 50-win 2024-25 season.
Even with those moves, the team's window to contend is very clearly defined and that means they could be very busy during the offseason again in a couple of years.
During a recent episode of Bill Simmons' podcast, Simmons and NBA insider Zach Lowe predicted that the Clippers will pursue Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo during the 2027 NBA offseason.
Lawrence Frank and the LA Clippers’ are gearing up to pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo in free agency during the Summer of 2027, per @ZachLowe_NBA and @BillSimmons.

Giannis is currently slated to become a free agent at the end of the 2026-27 NBA season, so there is plenty of time for things to change before then.
However, the Clippers have set themselves up to completely reshape their franchise during that offseason.
With Bradley Beal signing a two-year deal, the Clippers are now set to have Beal, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden all hit free agency during the 2027 offseason.
Ivica Zubac is the only player currently on the roster whose contract is guaranteed to run beyond that offseason. Yanic Konan Niederhauser has team options on his deal for the 2028-29 and 2029-30 seasons while Cam Christie has one of his own for 2028-29.
That will give the team a ton of cap space to throw around and pick from a free agent class that is currently expected to be loaded with talent to build a new core they can contend with.
