Clippers to hold six bobblehead nights this season. Yes, six.

The Clippers are this season’s host for the NBA All-Star game, but they’ve somehow turned that into a secondary act.

Their main events will be their multiple bobblehead nights. As in, a league-high six. You read that right — six.

The list reads like this, as relayed by Justin Russo, who pens the Russo Writes substack:

Jan. 12: Kris Dunn
Feb. 2: Chris Paul
Feb. 22: James Harden
Mar. 4: Bradley Beal
Mar. 16: Nicolas Batum
Mar. 25: Kawhi Leonard

I’ll be honest, I’d love one of Paul, Harden, Leonard and potentially Beal (I’m still undecided). And I’m not even a collector.

But that’s where the Clippers bobblehead interest would end. It’s probably where the Clippers should also draw the line.

For the record, teams can purchase bobbleheads when bought in bulk for as little as $3 apiece. The Intuit Dome holds 18,300 fans. Some quick middle school math shows that the Clippers will be spending close to $110,000 for the bobbleheads of Dunn and Batum.

Who’s in charge of the marketing department over there?

Then again, if you can afford it, and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer certainly can, why not? We live in a time of sports excess. Oftentimes, NBA teams lead the way (just imagine if each team gave away bobbleheads for its 17 assistant coaches).

So six bobbleheads? Yeah, it’s a lot. Perhaps too many.

That said, I’ll send $3 and shipping to anyone who attends Kris Dunn Night and is willing to part with that evening’s handout.
