The Phoenix Suns are likely preparing for a franchise-altering move after going just 36-46 last season and finishing as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference. The Suns started making changes almost immediately, firing head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season, despite signing him to a four-year deal worth roughly $50 million.

Shortly after, the Suns announced that they were moving James Jones into a senior advisory position and installed Brian Gregory as the new general manager. Gregory's relationship with owner Mat Ishbia goes back to Michigan State, where Ishbia was a player and Gregory an assistant coach on the 2000 National Championship team.

Colin Cowherd addresses Kevin Durant's potential fit with this Western Conference team

Rumors have been circulating regarding Kevin Durant and where the Suns might trade him if they decide to pull the trigger on a deal. Teams like the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and the Miami Heat have all been linked as possible suitors for the 15-time All-Star.

Colin Cowherd discussed the possible trade destinations and Durant's potential fit on the Rockets and the Spurs.

"I'm always cautious to say Kevin Durant doesn't fit anywhere, I think he fits everywhere," said Cowherd on his self-titled podcast. "Like my wife always says, 'salt works with everything.' I think Houston needs him more. I think [Durant] is smart and looks at it and just thinks 'man, I could have bad shooting nights and we could score 128 in San Antonio.'"

Many have speculated that the Suns will pull off a trade sooner rather than later, with the 2025 NBA Draft just over a week away, especially if they're looking for considerable draft capital. The Suns don't have their first-round pick in next Wednesday's draft, but do have the No. 29 overall selection from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While many think he'll be traded to one of the aforementioned Western Conference teams, they might be downplaying how easy the Eastern Conference is going to be next season. If he lands in the East, he'll have a legit chance of doing some damage. Not to say he won't with a Western Conference team, but the West will be less forgiving.
