When the Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler ahead of the NBA trade deadline, no one knew what to expect.

Butler's tenure with the Miami Heat ended with him at odds with the franchise. He was very unhappy and wanted a fresh start somewhere else.

It turns out, landing with the Warriors was exactly what Butler needed to get his career back on track. Golden State also needed Butler to get itself back on track.

That moved has ended up being exactly what both parties needed and the results have been impressive, to say the least.

With Butler in the lineup since the trade, the Warriors have compiled a 14-1 record.

Behind that impressive run since the trade, Golden State now holds a 39-28 record. That has them ranked No. 6 in the Western Conference standings.

Colin Cowherd spoke out about the fit between Butler and the Warriors. He stated the obvious in a recent segment of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd."

"I think Jimmy Butler is a perfect fit for this team," Cowherd said.

To this point, Butler has played in 15 games with Golden State. He has averaged 16.4 points per game to go along with 5.9 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.

In addition, the 35-year-old forward has shot 44.2% from the floor, but has only connected on 22.2% of his three-point attempts.

While there is room for improvement when it comes to his shooting, Butler has made a massive impact already on the Warriors.

Following the trade, Butler was given a two-year, $111 million extension, ensuring that he remains with the team for the foreseeable future.
