Towns entered the NBA as the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves after a standout freshman season at Kentucky. He made an immediate impact, winning NBA Rookie of the Year in 2016 and quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s most skilled big men.

Known for his shooting range and offensive versatility on top of his rebounding ability, Towns became a centerpiece of the Timberwolves’ rebuild, earning multiple NBA All-Star selections.

In 2024, Towns was traded to the New York Knicks and in 2025 helped them reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.
