Cooper Flagg has gotten a notable growth spurt

Cooper Flagg has become one big point-forward.

The Dallas Mavericks phenom Flagg spoke with reporters at the team’s media day on Friday. During the session, Flagg revealed that he has had a growth spurt since last season.

Flagg shared that he now measures in at 6-foot-10 without shoes (after being listed at 6-foot-9 last season). The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year added that he estimates he is at 6-foot-11 with shoes.

Still only 19 years old, Flagg was the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft. He lived up to his billing as a rookie for the Mavericks, averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game en route to ROY honors.

Flagg also has a new head coach in former University of Michigan champion Dusty May. Especially with Flagg’s new growth spurt, he will have the ability to see over defenses and help unlock May’s offense.

The former Duke star Flagg was a primary ball-handler and a de facto point guard last season for the Mavericks. While that might not be as necessary this season now that Kyrie Irving is returning from his ACL tear, Dallas certainly has some lofty expectations next season for their teenage phenom.
