The Dallas Mavericks are among the teams interested in trading for Cleveland Cavaliers wing Dean Wade, according to NBA insider Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.
The Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards are interested in Wade as well.
“One league source told Hoops Wire that the Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards are among the teams with a likely interest in Dean Wade,” Amico wrote.
Wade will make $6.6 million next season in the final year of his contract. He appeared in 59 games last season for the Cavaliers, averaging 5.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 41.3% from the field, 36.0% from beyond the arc and 53.3% from the free-throw line.
The 28-year-old Wade has spent his entire career with Cleveland. He has career averages of 5.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
The Cavaliers were the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference last season. They swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals in five games.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks missed the playoffs last season after making the NBA Finals in 2024. Dallas general manager Nico Harrison pulled the unthinkable in February, trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and Max Christie.
This offseason, the Mavericks drafted Cooper Flagg with the first pick in the 2025 draft and signed D’Angelo Russell, who played with Davis on the Lakers.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers traded Isaac Okoro to the Chicago Bulls for Lonzo Ball.
