Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has not been himself to start the NBA season. While the star guard's statistical averages are still great (28.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.8 assists), Doncic is shooting a career-low from the field.
Converting on just 42.5% of his field goal attempts, Doncic has struggled with his efficiency. Speaking with reporters after Saturday's win over the San Antonio Spurs, Doncic admitted he is not fully healthy right now.
"A little bit less," Doncic said when asked if he is 100% healthy. "It’s probably a matter of time, just there’s not a lot of time to rest. But I’ll get better for sure. I promise.”

Doncic was dealing with a calf injury throughout the NBA preseason, but the Mavericks have since announced he now has a right knee contusion. This injury will sideline him for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"Dallas has now made it official and is listing Luka Doncic as out tonight in Oklahoma City with a right knee contusion," NBA insider Marc Stein wrote. "It will be the first game Doncic misses this season even though a calf injury cost him the entire preseason."

This announcement from the Mavericks not only reveals Doncic's status for Sunday, but it also provides some clarity into what exactly he is experiencing. Per the team, it is a right knee contusion for Doncic, and it remains to be seen how long it will sideline him for.
The Mavericks will return home and host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
