It appears that Damian Lillard will not just head to Indianapolis to secure his eighth All-Star nod. He is also poised to defend his case as the league's three-point king.
Sources told Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report that the Milwaukee Bucks star point man intends to participate in the 2024 3-Point Contest of the 2024 NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
An all-time great shooter, Dame still yields that superior marksmanship he naturally possesses in his first year in Milwaukee.
Within his 25.3 points average is his impressive 34.5 percent efficiency from beyond the arc. Although he is attempting the lowest three-point shots (8.6) in his career since 2018-19, Dame (3.0) still hugely occupies the Bucks' total three-point makes as a team (14.2) that stands as the fifth-best league-wide.
Dame notably drained a dramatic buzzer-beating long trey that pulled the Bucks to an overtime victory against the Sacramento Kings last Jan. 14
Lillard is vying to become the first player in league history to become a back-to-back three-point champion since Jason Kapono in 2007 and 2008. He also desires to become the first ever Buck since Ray Allen (2001) to win the contest.
It is yet to be seen who will be the other key competitors that will challenge him in the competition. But Dame won't bow down and deliver his best not to let the crown slip atop his head.
