D’Angelo Russell Catches Attention With Embarrassing Offseason Video

The Brooklyn Nets had another miserable season this year by finishing with a 26-56 record and missing the playoffs for the second straight time. But one of their players seems to be enjoying himself early this offseason.

Guard D'Angelo Russell spent some time in China as part of a tour with sportswear brand Li-Ning. A lucky handful of fans got to spend some time with him for a few hundred dollars each, and one fan even got to play one-on-one against him.

The fan stopped him from making a layup, then knocked down two 3-pointers in his face, and Russell was a good sport through it all.

This was likely a welcome respite for Russell, who just completed a frustrating season.

He was traded in late December by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Nets, and he ended up averaging 12.6 points and 5.1 assists a game while shooting just 39% from the field and 31.4% from 3-point range.

The season prior, he put up 18.0 points per game on 45.6% overall shooting and 41.5% from downtown.

The Nets have been in purgatory ever since their experiment with a Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving-led superteam failed. They traded both superstars two years ago and looked to stockpile draft picks while knowing that it would be tough sledding for a while.

In two seasons and change with Durant and Irving, they won a grand total of one playoff series despite being hailed as the NBA's next true powerhouse. Durant, who was sent to the Phoenix Suns in February 2023, is likely to get traded again this summer, while Irving, who is a member of the Dallas Mavericks, is recovering from a torn ACL.
