Rajon Rondo enjoyed quite a successful career in the NBA before he ended up retiring after the 2021-22 campaign. Now, it looks like he's set to turn the spotlight over to his daughter, Ryelle Rondo, after she recently shared a big announcement.

Rajon's professional basketball career spanned 16 years and saw him earn four All-Star and All-Defensive first team selections each. He played a huge role in helping the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers win titles in 2008 and 2020, respectively, and during his prime, he was arguably the best passer in the entire league.

Along the way, he had his daughter Ryelle, and while she ultimately didn't choose to follow in her father's footsteps and play basketball, she's become a star on the volleyball court instead. That resulted in her announcing she had officially signed on to join the Alabama Crimson Tide's volleyball team for the 2025 season.

Ryelle has been playing on her club team KIVA, where she's primarily a defensive specialist, although she has the versatility to play in several different roles. She had previously verbally committed to Alabama back in May, but she's now put pen to paper, ensuring she will be joining the Crimson Tide in the fall.

While she could have technically changed her mind, there was very little doubt that Ryelle would end up at Alabama, and now it's official. She was pumped to have fully committed to the school, and it sounds like her new team is thrilled to have her on board as well.

You can bet Rajon is hyped to see his daughter sign with Alabama, and it's clear the apple didn't fall too far from the tree here. While they played different sports, it was tough to miss Rajon's athleticism on the basketball court, and it looks Ryelle has the same traits, which she has used to turn herself into a star volleyball player.

It will be awhile before Ryelle officially plays for Alabama, but fans will be keeping an eye out for her when she officially joins the team for the 2025 season.
