De'Aaron Fox Gets Major Trade Announcement, Sacramento Kings Land Another All-Star

The Sacramento Kings have done it. They struck a De'Aaron Fox deal to move the former All-Star guard just ahead of the trade deadline.

While the deadline is still days away, the Kings were eager to move Fox given the two sides' stance on a future contract, ability to compete for titles and overall waning relationship.

Evidently, no trade will stump Luka Doncic being dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers as the Dallas Mavericks netted Anthony Davis -- though this deal would have been the most groundbreaking of the deadline in any other circumstance.

Fox is headed to the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team trade that brings Chicago Bulls former All-Star guard Zach LaVine to Sacramento.

In this scenario, everyone wins. The Bulls offload an All-Star-caliber guard to kick off their rebuild, the Spurs add a star guard alongside Victor Wembanyama and the Kings can remain competitive as LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are teammates again.

"Sacramento is finalizing a trade to send De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in a multi-team trade that moves Chicago Bulls' Zach LaVine to the Kings," ESPN's Shams Charania reported.

Also in the move is Kevin Huerter, who is headed to Chicago as Jordan McLaughlin is headed to the Spurs with Fox. The Kings also netted three first-round picks.

Not only did the Kings retain star-level production, but they also landed more draft compensation to further position themselves for the future.

The move, by Sacramento, was a win considering what they were looking for in a deal. They got a win-now talent and more assets for the future
