DeMarcus Cousins came in Paul George’s defense recently, claiming it’s time for people to stop trashing the Clippers star and start showing some respect for his game. PG13 was once one of the best exciting players in the league but things changed a little since he left the Indiana Pacers.

After failing to win with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Clippers, the perception around him is that he’s a choker and can’t lead a team to the promised land. Well, PG is ready to change that narrative and his last games are the biggest proof of that. That’s why Boogie decided to send a message to George’s haters, praising him and saying it’s time to end the PG slander.

“PG’s cool as a fan,” Cousins said after the Clippers beat the Portland Trail Blazers, 113-112, in a hard-fought match. “He leads by example. He comes in and he works every single day. Every night he steps on the floor, he’s going to give an A+ effort. One of the most talented players I’ve ever seen lace ‘em up. We gotta stop the PG slander. It just won’t be accepted around me…Every chance I get, I’m gonna give him his flowers.”

Curiously, since the Clippers landed Boogie, George started to put big names on the sheets and his current run is very impressive. The Clips have won six of their last seven and the swingman has played a big role in that.

Just like Cousins did, Paul also threw some flowers to his new teammate, saying we’re seeing flashes of his best version now with the Clippers and that only means bad news for the rest of the league.

“We’re getting flashes of vintage Boogie,” Paul George said, per Andrew Greif. “I think what will be most impressive about his game for us is he automatically draws double teams.”

The Clippers aren’t making the same noise they made last year and that could be beneficial for them come playoffs time. This team appears to be getting ready to face the top squads in the West and beat them. It’s still early to predict how the season is going to end for them but Tyronn Lue and his pupils are showing very interesting things right now.
