Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is currently on international duty, representing Serbia at the 2025 EuroBasket.

Every game that Nikola Jokic plays is bound to mesmerize basketball fans, such is the grace with which the Denver Nuggets superstar plays the game on the hardwood.

As good as Jokic is, it still shocks fans that Jokic’s number one priority has never been the game of basketball.

Dennis Schroder hails Nikola Jokic as best player in the world

Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder is among the NBA players who will be active during the 2025 EuroBasket.

Schroder will represent Germany at the competition. With the friendlies for the competition currently taking place, the 31-year-old has been pretty vocal about his competition.

He previously heaped huge praise on Slovenia’s Luka Doncic. Now, Schroder has decided to share his unfiltered thoughts on the Joker.

“I find it fascinating that basketball really only comes second or third in his life. He enjoys spending time with his family and his horses. He lives for the things that matter to him,” Schroder said via BasketNews on Instagram.

While Jokic’s life priorities fascinate Schroder, the German guard still believes that the 3x NBA MVP is unarguably the best player in the world.

“He says he doesn’t want to be remembered in the books for basketball, but for how good he is as a father. But as a player, he’s the best in the world,” Schroder added.

Nikola Jokic once stated that ‘basketball is not the main thing in my life’

Jokic has miraculous talent on the hardwood, but it’s not the most important thing in his life. He outright stated that during the Nuggets’ 2023 NBA Championship run.

“I knew that even before [becoming a dad], that basketball is not the main thing in my life, and probably never [will] be.

“And to be honest, I like it, because I have something more at home, [something] that is more important than basketball,” Jokic said.

He added: “I think that’s [what I’ve] learned. I already knew that, but this kind of proved that I was correct.”

Even if Jokic treats playing basketball as nothing more than a regular job, he’s incredibly good at it. After all, at 30 years old, Jokic already has a first-ballot Hall of Fame-worthy resume.
