Denver Nuggets Cut Angel Reese's Brother, Julian

Julian Reese, the younger brother of WNBA star Angel Reese, is facing an uphill climb to make an NBA roster for the start of the 2026-27 season.

Reese spent four years at Maryland, averaging 11.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. After going undrafted in 2025, he joined the Toronto Raptors on an Exhibit 10 contract. He then agreed to a two-way deal with the Washington Wizards this past February.

In limited action with the Wizards, Reese averaged 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Despite putting up strong numbers, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets this offseason.

“Cleveland, Denver and the Clippers have agreed on a trade sending Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers, Max Strus to LA, and an unprotected 2031 Cavs first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder to the Nuggets, sources tell ESPN,” Shams Charania said. “As part of the deal, the Cavaliers are sending Tre Mann, the 2027 second-rounder from the Clippers and cash to the Washington Wizards for Cam Whitmore, sources said. The Wizards also are sending Julian Reese to the Nuggets, who will waive Reese off his two-way deal.”

Well, the Nuggets officially waived Reese on Friday.
