Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray suffered an ankle injury in Thursday night's game vs. the Miami Heat, and was unable to return to the game. With Murray having dealt with ankle issues this season, there is always concern whenever something ankle related pops up for him, but it seems to not be too serious this time around.
Speaking with reporters after the game, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone revealed a seemingly encouraging update, saying Murray was actually trying to come back into the game, but his ankle was not quite responding the way it needed to:
Michael Malone said that Jamal Murray wanted to "give it a go" in the second half but his sprained ankle wasn't responding how he had hoped.

Malone added that the Nuggets are trying to be "as careful as possible" with Murray.
Malone added that the Nuggets are trying to be as careful as possible with their star point guard, which makes sense when considering his injury history. While this isn't a major update, it does at least indicate that Murray was not feeling injured enough to not attempt a return to the game. While he was ultimately unable to, the fact that he wanted to give it a go is a good sign that it's not too serious.
The Nuggets were able to defeat Miami even with Murray going down and not returning, getting a much needed victory in this NBA Finals rematch. Denver is still in pursuit of a top spot in the Western Conference, with neither the Oklahoma City Thunder or Minnesota Timberwolves giving up much ground.
