Denver Nuggets: Rudy Gobert Drops Kobe Bryant Comparison to Aaron Gordon After Insane Shooting in Game 4
Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-107 in Game 4 on Sunday night to tie the series to two games apiece.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were back at it, with the former recording a team-high 35 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals on 15-of-26 shooting from the field while the latter had 19 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and two steals.

However, a big reason why they got the victory is because of the incredible shooting of Aaron Gordon, who finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two blocks on 11-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from three-point land.

Gordon’s ultra-efficient night caught most people off guard, especially Minnesota Timberwolves center and four-time Defensive Player of the Year awardee Rudy Gobert.

“A lot of them were contested, so if Gordon turns into Kobe Bryant, we just got to live with that,” said Gobert via Dave McMenamin on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The Denver Nuggets are back in the series

When the Minnesota Timberwolves won twice on the road in Games 1 and 2, many people thought the Denver Nuggets would be eliminated soon. However, the defending champions showed they weren’t going down without a fight.

Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said he drew inspiration from Rudy Tomjanovich’s famous quote during these two road games.

“‘Never underestimate the heart of a champion.’ They were quick to write us off, but these guys, we won a championship a year ago. This team has been tested time and time again, and we found a way to solve whatever’s been thrown at us,” said Malone.

“This series is a long way from being over. We’re not celebrating, it’s 2-2. But what I found about our group is that they do believe in themselves. We have a group that is acting as you would hope a championship team would act,” he added.
