The Detroit Pistons appear close to finalizing their 2025-26 training camp roster. According to Keith Smith of Sportac, the Pistons have inked Charles Bediako, Dawson Garcia, John Ukomadu, and Brice Williams to Exhibit 10 training camp deals.

“The Detroit Pistons have signed Charles Bediako, Dawson Garcia, John Ukomadu, and Brice Williams to training camp deals,” Smith tweeted.

Detroit Pistons Make 4 Roster Moves As They Finalize Training Camp Roster. Is the Final Roster Spot Up For Grabs?

With the moves, Detroit now has 21 players on their training camp roster. However, the Pistons may sign a few more players to Exhibit 10 deals. The Pistons will open camp in 10 days on September 29.

Detroit has 14 players on standard deals with salaries totaling $166.8 million on the ledger, leaving the Pistons $21 million below the salary cap. They reportedly have been mulling whether to re-sign Malik Beasley.

Beasley’s status is still up in the air, per Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press. But Sankofa adds that Beasley, who spent last season with the Pistons, would love to return to the franchise.

“It’s definitely a place I want to be,” Beasley said, via Sankofa, following the Pistons’ playoff elimination at the hands of the Knicks. “To be here, my mom’s hometown, I grew up here a lot in the summertime. To be able to perform in front of this city is huge, and I’m glad I got a chance to do that.”

Beasley, coming off a career season, remains under investigation for possible violations of the CBA due to the gambling probe. Before the probe, the Pistons were believed to be prepared to offer the 28-year-old a three-year, $42 million deal.

“I do know that Malik, if there’s a pathway, would like to look at being considered to play for Detroit again next season,” Beasley’s lawyer, Steve Haney, told ESPN’s David Purdum.I’m not his agent, though, so I don’t know if there’s still interest there, I don’t know if there’s still money there, what the mutual level of interest there is in him returning to Detroit. I know that he’s got a lot of love for Detroit and would like to, if possible, look at maybe coming back.”

Do Any Of The Four Signees Have A Chance To Make The Pistons’ 18-Man Roster?

Only time will tell if Bediako, Garcia, Ukomadu, and Williams have a realistic opportunity to make Detroit’s 18-man roster. First, Beasley’s status may still be a long way from being settled. There is also a possibility that the Pistons decide against re-signing him if he is not suspended. Cleveland, New York, and Minnesota have previously shown interest in the 6-4 wing.

Let’s say the Pistons decide not to sign Beasley. Then, the Pistons could have open competition with the four recent additions all vying for a spot, or they may ultimately choose to wait and see if someone becomes available via trade or free agency.

Of the 14 players on standard contracts, 13 have fully guaranteed pacts with Javonte Green being the lone exception. Green projects to make the Pistons’ opening roster, though only $925,106 of his $2 29 million is guaranteed.

Pistons Two-Way Spots

The Pistons also have filled all three of the two-way spots. Tolu Smith, Daniss Jenkins, and Colby Jones currently occupy the spots.

Smith appears to be a lock to remain on a minor league deal as the 6-11 athletic center followed up a fantastic G-League rookie season, where he averaged a double-double in 33 games, with an outstanding summer league performance. He also registered 14 points and eight rebounds in his lone appearance for the Pistons last season.

Jenkins also showed some promise during his time with the Pistons G-League Motor City Cruise. Jenkins averaged 18.5 points, including one 40-point game, in 47 appearances and produced five double-doubles, but struggled shooting the ball. He showed improvement in the area during the summer league and also proved to be a playmaker, compiling 14.6 points and 5.4 assists with shooting splits of 44.9%, 42.1%, and 78.3%. Additionally, the 24-year-old appeared in 23 minutes across seven games with the Pistons.

Jones’ spot is probably the most vulnerable. Still, just 23, Jones played well in his short time with Washington and is uber athletic. Known more for his defense, Jones has struggled shooting the ball over his career.

It is possible that Jenkins, Smith, or Jones could become the 15th player on the standard deal if they impress during training camp.

Who Are The New Additions?

Expect all four new additions to play for Motor City this season. However, it is possible that Bediako or Garcia could make the 18-man roster, either on a standard deal or a two-way pact, depending on what the Pistons ultimately decide to do.

Charles Bediako

Bediako went undrafted in 2023 out of Alabama. The 23-year-old big man, who signed a two-way contract with San Antonio in 2023, has spent the last two seasons in the G-League with Austin Spurs and the Grand Rapids Gold (Denver).  He played for Orlando’s summer league squad and Canada’s AmeriCup squad this summer.

Bediako has fantastic size and is athletic. While the 6-11 forward is extremely efficient offensively, he is limited on that end, though it is on the backboards where he thrives. He is also an outstanding shot-blocker.

 Dawson Garcia

Garcia was considered an NBA prospect at times during his collegiate career due to his rebounding and shooting abilities. But the 6-11 big man ultimately went undrafted out of Minnesota this past June.

Garcia had a decent showing with the Pistons’ summer league squad. Garcia was highly efficient and reached double-figures despite averaging just 13 minutes a contest in four appearances. He finished summer league action with 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 66.7/50.0/66.7.

Garcia reportedly agreed to deal with the Pistons following the draft in June.

John Ukomadu

Ukomadu joined Motor City after going undrafted in 2024. Very athletic, the 6-7 forward is known for his defense, though he was very efficient with the Cruise last season in a reserve role. However, he did struggle in three summer league games for the Pistons, and almost immediately after inking the Exhibit 10 deal, the team waived him. So, Unkomadu will head back to Motor City this season.

Brice Williams

Williams saw a massive jump in production in his last collegiate season, compiling 20.4 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 47.2/36.9/88.8 at Nebraska last season. He also had a massive game in the NBA Combine scrimmages, although he struggled shooting the ball in the Pistons’ Vegas summer league action.
