The NBA, a league with an 82-game slate excluding the playoffs, involves constant travel. And most players will have a preference for which city they liked most and/or the least. While most of the league may not voice their personal opinions on particular cities, LeBron James was the opposite, becoming vocal.
With his future in the sport has been questioned, if he continues to play next season, he’ll no doubt have another go at a couple of cities he doesn’t like – Milwaukee and Memphis. LBJ doesn’t like going to those places anymore. After hearing what James had to say, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers jokingly offered his view on the matter.
“Let’s build a Four Seasons or a Ritz-Carlton I guess… We should trade for him, let him see Milwaukee. I’m going to get fined for saying that,” Rivers said.

Good for Rivers not to take the bait and make light of the situation. Every NBA city has its pros and cons. Milwaukee and Memphis are small-market teams, unlike the glitz and glamor of LA.
At 41 years old, LeBron James can pretty much do and say what he wants. But at that age, he just wants comfort, especially when his team is on the road. And that’s why he’s vocal about his experience whenever he’s in Milwaukee or Memphis.
“Milwaukee was, too. Did they miss that one?” James said. “It’s two cities I don’t like playing in right now—Milwaukee and Memphis. What’s the problem?”
Of the two cities, Memphis often gets a bad reputation from players. James isn’t the only one who has voiced his displeasure whenever he’s in the city. Most players deem Memphis a bit boring, or that the hotels are not exactly the five-star ones they are used to when they are traveling.
