Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan crossed paths many, many times during their basketball careers in the 80s and 90s. And while Jordan likely surprised Wilkins many times as a player, MJ may have given Wilkins an even bigger shock with a recent decision.
Speaking to eSports Insider's Kyle Odegard, Wilkins was asked about Jordan's recent decision to join NBC as an analyst in the fall. He said that he was "shocked" by the move because he knows that Jordan would have to take a "huge payday" to agree to something like that and based on what he's heard, that's exactly what MJ got.
“I was shocked. And I know this: if Jordan is doing this, it’s got to be a huge payday,” Wilkins said. “Huge. I’ve seen some of the rumors (on pay) and it’s like, ‘I get it.'”
Wilkins was then asked if he's excited to hear Jordan's analysis. As you might expect, Wilkins loves it. He believes that seeing basketball analysts from "the greatest to ever do it" is simply incomparable.
“I love it, because we’re going to see another aspect of basketball from the greatest to ever do it,” Wilkins said. “How would you combat that? Like, how would you question his outlook on the game? It’s going to be interesting. They are going to hear it from a guy who has done it on a level that only a few get a chance to achieve.”
I did a 30-minute sitdown with NBA legend Dominique Wilkins. We hit on:

NBC will be the new home for the NBA this fall after years and years with the CBS family of networks. The network has pulled out all of the stops to ensure that it has audiences' attention from the get-go and adding The Airman to their lineup is as big a move as any network has ever made.
Wilkins is far from the only person who can't wait to see what MJ has to say.
