This space aims to identify players who represent good value for recording a double-double in a particular game. If they post double-digit totals in any two of the five main categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals), backers will at least double their money – and sometimes make much more than that.
The bet: A double-double for Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. (+900 DraftKings)
As his team was competing in the postseason last year, Porter had to watch helplessly from the sidelines after undergoing back surgery. Now fully healthy, he’s increasing his playoff contributions by more frequently putting his 6-foot-10-inch frame in rebounding position.
Because the Nuggets closed out their series against the Suns with a pair of blowout wins, Porter averaged less than 26 minutes of court time in those games. But he played more than 36 minutes in each of the two previous contests and finished both with a double-double. His best overall performance came in Game 3, when he scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Porter has spent more than 31 minutes on the floor in just six games this postseason. He secured double-digit rebounds in four of them and came up one board short in another. With the Lakers keeping the game competitive but possibly tiring late due to the Denver altitude, this highly profitable prop has a realistic chance of hitting.
