Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are set to open the 2025–26 regular season on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Green will be entering his 14th NBA season, all spent with Golden State. The 35-year-old veteran remains one of the league’s elite defensive anchors and has been a central figure in the Warriors’ sustained success alongside head coach Steve Kerr and star guard Steph Curry.

Over the past decade-plus, Green has helped lead the franchise to four NBA championships while earning four All-Star selections, two All-NBA honors and nine All-Defensive team nods. He showed no signs of slowing down last season, finishing third in Defensive Player of the Year voting. Though not known for his scoring, Green still posted solid numbers in 2024–25, averaging 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game across 68 games while shooting 42.4% from the field on 7.5 attempts.

As Green prepares for the regular season opener against Los Angeles, the Warriors defensive star announced he would be making an appearance on NBC’s St. Denis Medical, a TV show. Green, along with NBC, released a snippet video of Green appearing with the cast. “Draymond Green checks in! #StDenisMedical Season 2 premieres Nov 3 at 8/7c on NBC and Peacock,” the collaborated post read.

St. Denis Medical is a sitcom that follows the lives of overworked and underfunded doctors and nurses at a fictional hospital in Oregon. In Green’s brief appearance, he is shown being treated after a hypothetical lightning strike.

While Green’s cameo on St. Denis Medical offered a humorous off-court break from the grind, his attention now turns fully to another year in the NBA. With the Warriors aiming to stay competitive in a loaded Western Conference, Green’s leadership and defensive intensity will be critical from opening night. As always, his impact won’t be measured by scoring alone, but by the tone he sets on both ends of the floor.

The Warriors’ core of Green, Curry and Jimmy Butler, now entering his first full season with the team, faces questions about its ability to avoid regression with all three veterans in the final stages of their careers. Still, the trio has shown strong chemistry, and Butler’s arrival has proven to be a great fit. Golden State believes its championship window remains open, and the group will get another shot to prove it this year.
