The Golden State Warriors improved to 22-19 in the Western Conference with a 119-97 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. In the victory, Draymond Green contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks, helping the Warriors secure a crucial win as they continue their push toward improved seeding midway through the season.
Green, now in his 14th NBA season, has been a cornerstone of the Warriors’ dynasty since being selected in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. Over his career, he has earned four NBA championships, four All-Star selections and nine All-Defensive Team honors. This season, Green is averaging 8.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game, continuing to provide leadership and versatility for Golden State.
After the win against Portland, Green addressed his plans after his playing career. Per The New York Times’ Nick Friedell, Green said he is considering coaching.
“As I get closer to the end, I think a little bit more about it and I’m definitely closer than I was a couple years ago,” Green said. “If you would have asked me two years ago I would have told you, ‘Hell no.’ But as you get closer to the end, you start to think, ‘Oh man, what is it that I really want to do?’

"And I don’t know that it will — it’s not an absolute no anymore for me. Once you start to learn more about it and dig deeper into it, as you get older you get closer to the coaching staff, you start to see more. So I’m not gonna sit here and tell you, ‘Yes, I’m gonna coach when I’m done.’ But I won’t tell you no anymore.”
Off the court, Green has also been active in media ventures, including his “The Draymond Green Show” podcast and regular television appearances, providing analysis and commentary on the NBA.
According to Spotrac, Green is in the third year of a four-year, $100 million contract with the Warriors, including a base salary of $25.9 million for the 2025-26 season.
For now, Green remains focused on finishing the season with Golden State. Alongside Steph Curry, his leadership and on-court contributions remain critical as the team positions itself for the playoffs, while he continues to consider his next steps beyond his playing career.
The Warriors return to the court at 10 p.m. ET Thursday when they host the New York Knicks.
