Last week, Draymond Green said he only got technicals when he wanted to. He picked a bad time to want one.

Like too many of his T's this season, Green's 16th technical of the season came out of frustration. Russell Westbrook appeared to push Green in the back on an Ivica Zubac basket, and Green tossed the ball off Westbrook's head.

Sixteen technicals are the limit in the NBA, which carries an automatic one-game suspension. That means he'll miss Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, when the Warriors are already missing Andre Iguodala and Andrew Wiggins. They're 7-27 on the road even with Green, and now they won't have him for a huge road game after dropping down into sixth place.
After the loss in Memphis last week, Green told reporters, "I get technical fouls when I want to get technical fouls. I don't get baited into technical fouls."
No one baited him this time, but it was very unfortunate timing.
Draymond's worst timing for a technical was in the 2016 NBA Finals, when Green was suspended for Game 5 after the NBA controversially assessed a technical foul on Green a day after the game.
That suspension probably cost the Warriors an NBA title. This suspension just might cost them a playoff berth.
