Draymond Green and Steve Kerr have had their fair share of clashes, but the veteran forward made his feelings about the Golden State Warriors coach very clear.

In his latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” Green effusively praised Kerr, and even credited the coach for motivating him this season at several points when he was ready to quit.

“There’s several times this year where I thought about quitting, and each time, he’d just say the right thing to relight that fire and make you want to go again. That’s a special coach,” Green said. “When you come into a season expecting to compete for a championship and it goes the way that it’s gone for us, good luck trying to keep that together. So many coaches you see get fired because when it all goes wrong, they can’t hold it together. Steve Kerr is a master at that.

“To this day, the way you get amazed by Steph Curry’s shots, or the way some are amazed by my defense, is how I get amazed by his coaching when all the money is on the line.”

Kerr’s contract is up this summer and his future with the Warriors is unclear. He has made that very clear, and expects a decision to be made within the next few weeks. Though no decision has been made, Golden State’s season-ending loss to Phoenix in the play-in tournament certainly had an air of finality about it.

Green’s endorsement certainly carries weight, especially since he and Kerr clashed at times this year. Kerr later took responsibility for that issue, which Green obviously appreciates.
