While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry teased that he could make a trade to move down or up from the sixth overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer spoke with one longtime talent evaluator who suggested Berry should make a deal to move up the draft order so that he can grab Notre Dame Fighting Irish star running back Jeremiyah Love.
During his chat with Cabot, the evaluator referred to Love as "the best prospect" he has ever scouted.
"He’s that good," the evaluator said about Love.
ESPN stats show that 2025 rookie Quinshon Judkins led the Browns this past season with 230 carries, 827 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. However, he suffered a fractured fibula along with a dislocated ankle on Dec. 21, 2025, and it's too early to say what he will and won't be coming off such a devastating injury.
As for Love, he is widely viewed as the best overall offensive prospect in this year's draft class. That said, it's unknown how far Cleveland would have to move up to get him on the night of April 23.
Recent reports revealed that "there’s a lot of smoke" regarding the Arizona Cardinals possibly drafting Love with the third pick. The Tennessee Titans (pick No. 4) and New York Giants (No. 5) have routinely been linked with Love, and Giants head coach John Harbaugh is "especially high on" the dynamic playmaker.
"He’s special," Berry said about Love on Thursday. "If you think about some of the dual-threat backs that the league has had, obviously, Christian McCaffrey may be the poster child for that. Jahmyr Gibbs may be kind of the next generation of that. Jeremiyah certainly has a lot of those abilities and capabilities. He’s a very dynamic prospect."
It appears that Love won't fall to the Browns at pick No. 6. Meanwhile, the Cardinals and Giants are reportedly among teams that may want to collect assets and move down the draft order.
