Draymond Green Offers Four Words to Jordan Poole After Wizards-Warriors

Saturday night's matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards brought back old memories. A returning Jordan Poole came in and dropped 38 points against his former team. It was not enough as the Warriors still won a competitive 122-114 ball game.

Normally, a matchup against the worst team in the Eastern Conference would not get much attention. However, given the history between Poole and Draymond Green in Golden State, it had its fair share of eyes on it.

At the post-game press conference, Poole let it be known that he still has a lot of love for his old teammates on the Warriors.

“I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there,” Poole commented after the game.

If one were to read between the lines, it feels abundantly clear why the Wizards guard caught himself and corrected the initial statement. It feels next to abundantly clear that the adjustment was meant for Green.

The former teammates had the infamous fight at practice where a verbal match turned physical after Poole shoved Green and the four-time champion responded with a haymaker. One would be understanding as to why the Wizards guard might still hold some resentment towards the situation.

Green saw the post-game comments on Twitter/X and spoke out in response.

"I really am sorry," the Warriors forward posted.

After struggling in his first season with the Wizards, Poole looks better in this year's campaign. The former NBA champion is averaging 21.9 points while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from 3-point, and 4.8 assists per game during the 2024-25 campaign. Poole is making the most of his time away from Golden State.
