Draymond Green On Battle For 10th Seed: 'I Don't Give A Damn About The Rockets'

The Warriors fell to a tough 110-114 loss to the Timberwolves tonight, with the main takeaway from the game being Stephen Curry playing limited minutes. Draymond put up 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the game, putting on a decent showing but one that wasn't enough to seal this win.

The Houston Rockets are 35-35 currently, just one game behind the 36-34 Warriors. The teams play each other next week in a game that will likely decide which one of the teams ends up in the playoffs. Given the rivalry between the Rockets and Warriors in the late 2010s, it's poetic for this battle for the No. 10 seed to come down to these franchises.

Draymond Green Got Real On The Warriors' Problems

The Warriors have a ton of problems plaguing their roster at this point, with Draymond Green calling his own team out for not having built good habits.

"In order to win, you have to build good habits. I don't think we have great habits... "

Green broke down the result of the loss vs the Wolves, calling them a much better NBA team and lamenting the breakdowns that ultimately cost them in this contest.

"Just can't win while having breakdowns. When you have breakdowns, it changes momentum, and momentum is not easy to get back. They're an NBA team, lot of standards there, much better NBA team. You can't have breakdowns, you're going to lose. If you're playing a team better than you and you have breakdowns, you're always going to lose. That's why we're losing right now."

Draymond also explained that the Warriors' unremarkable season record is primarily due to the team's inability to put away teams that are worse than them, giving up some costly wins in that situation.

"Losing games, especially games we should win. We've lost a lot of games we were supposed to win. in this league, you have to win the games you're supposed to win and steal a few that you're not supposed to win. But if you lose the ones you're supposed to win, you're in for a long ride."

The Rockets will be fiending to bump the Warriors out of the No. 10 seed and solidify their new era under coach Ime Udoka. The new generation Rockets becoming the final nail in the coffin of the Warriors' big three dynasty will be poetic, especially with Chris Paul on the Warriors roster as well. But you can't count out a championship outfit like the Warriors until they fall behind or are eliminated.
