Did Jeanie Buss contemplate trading LeBron James to the Los Angeles Clippers? Baxter Holmes’ piece for ESPN on the Buss family claimed that the Lakers’ former majority owner, Jeanie Buss, was fed up with LeBron James’ attitude.

According to Holmes, Buss resented the influence of James’ Klutch Sports agency and felt that he superseded the wishes of the owners. Thus, she was looking to part ways with him via a trade to the Clippers.

LeBron James’ pal Draymond Green believes that such claims appear unfounded. On his eponymous podcast, he shared his thoughts about Holmes’ trending article.

Draymond Green is Having Trouble Digesting the Claims in Holmes’ Article

Green opined that it is unfair to put all the blame on one player for the organization’s failures. He also thought that trading someone of LeBron James’ stature sounds far-fetched.

“Trading LeBron to the Clippers. I don't buy that either," Green said. "You're not sending LeBron James right up the street to the Los Angeles Clippers. Maybe the Clippers called, I don't know. But you're not just sending LeBron James up the street to the Clippers. I don't buy that.”

Green’s surprise stems from the fact that James has never been traded in his career. He helped lift the Lakers back to NBA prominence after a tumultuous period in the 2010s.

Will LeBron James Finish his Career with the Lakers?

Jeanie Buss is no longer the majority stakeholder in the Lakers’ franchise. Mark Walter took over before the season, and his ownership period has gotten off to a promising start. The Lakers are 26-16, the fifth-best record in the Western Conference.

James is still performing at a high level, averaging 22.5 points, 7.0 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game. There is a huge chance that James finishes his career in the Lakers jersey. But you never know if there's another twist left in this illustrious story.
