With the Golden State Warriors’ backs against the wall, they made a major move before the NBA trade deadline to land two-way star Jimmy Butler in a multi-team deal.
After acquiring Butler, the Warriors agreed to a two-year, $121 million deal to keep him. As the trade happened just before the Warriors’ game, Draymond Green revealed what Curry's immediate reaction was to landing Butler in the heat of the moment in the latest episode of " The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis."
"Steph looked like he got belief," Green said. "He looked at me and said, 'Man, it just dawned on me that this is it. This is the last ride.' And I said, 'Let's do it.' It was an emotional moment."

Butler's last year in Miami was a mess after team president Pat Riley made comments during the postseason, telling players who aren’t playing to "keep your mouth shut." This was widely seen as an indirect shot at Butler, who had made a controversial comment while sidelined, saying the Heat would have beaten the Celtics and Knicks if he were playing.

This came a year after Butler led the Heat to the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets, where they ultimately fell short. After multiple team suspensions, not playing, and waiting for a trade, Butler finally got his opportunity to move on, and he’s made the most of it so far.
The Warriors are 2-0 with Butler on the roster, and he’s coming off a 20-point performance against the Bucks on Monday night, adding to the 25 points he scored in the previous game against the Chicago Bulls.
Currently, Golden State is 27-26 overall and holds the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference. They’re entering the first game of a back-to-back against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, a game that carries postseason implications, as Dallas is 28-26 and the No. 8 seed.
