The Golden State Warriors acquired two-way star Jimmy Butler at last season’s trade deadline, a move aimed at maximizing the prime years of star guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green.

Despite high hopes, the Warriors fell short in the playoffs, losing in the second round to the Minnesota Timberwolves after Curry missed the entire series due to an injury sustained in Game 1.

Now, with all three stars set to return this season, Green delivered a bold message in a recent workout video with Butler as the NBA season draws closer.

“We about six weeks out, right where I need to be, baby... And we getting that [explicit] this year,” Green said.

Draymond Green appeared in 68 games for the Warriors last season, averaging 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.5 steals across 29.2 minutes per game. He finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting and earned his ninth All-Defensive First Team selection.

Now entering his 14th season with Golden State at age 35—all alongside Steph Curry—Green and the Warriors face a daunting path in the Western Conference despite still having two of the league’s top offensive talents in Curry and Jimmy Butler and plenty of championship experience.

The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder return largely intact, the Houston Rockets added Kevin Durant, the Minnesota Timberwolves remain contenders, and the Los Angeles Lakers—featuring Luka Doncic and LeBron James—along with the bolstered Los Angeles Clippers, make the West as stacked as ever.

How far the Warriors can go will largely depend on team health throughout the season and how well the supporting cast outside of Curry, Green, and Butler steps up.

Key contributors include Buddy Hield, Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Quinten Post, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and potentially Jonathan Kuminga, who has yet to reach a contract agreement.
