Dwyane Wade’s truth bomb about Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama features Michael Jordan, LeBron James

The San Antonio Spurs are facing what is essentially a must-win game on Sunday evening as they look to even up their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs have dropped two straight games after stealing Game 1 on the road, with Victor Wembanyama looking more mortal in those contests.

In Game 1, Wembanyama looked like the best player on the planet, and recently, Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade put the star among some elite historical company.

“We talk about [Michael] Jordan and LeBron [James] and all them guys — we always talk about their accomplishments,” Wade said, per Baxter Holmes of ESPN. “We could stop right now with Wemby and say we saw someone who’s actually really good at everything. He has no weaknesses. It is incredible. And so, yes, on the defensive end of the floor, he’s just as dominant as he is on the offensive end of the floor. He has total dominance on both sides of the floor.”

Wembanyama is likely even more dominant on defense than offense, although he is a nightmare for opponents on both sides of the ball.

In this series, the Thunder have tried to take a more physical approach with the star, which has sometimes been effective, although he has still found a way to put up solid stats following his monster performance in Game 1.

In addition to his blocked shots, Wembanyama also simply doesn’t allow many shots to be taken around the basket.

“We’ve never seen guys that want to attack the basket, that want to score, that want to shoot, look at Wemby and try to size him up and they can’t beat him left, they can’t beat him right, they can’t go over top,” Wade said.

“They just go somewhere else.”

Game 4 is set for Monday night.
