One team from the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets has already won the blockbuster trade.
This offseason, the Denver Nuggets decided to part ways with Michael Porter Jr. as they traded him to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nuggets also gave up a 2032 first-round pick along with MPJ in exchange for Cameron Johnson.
At the time, the Nuggets certainly had the upper hand, but just a month into the regular season, Porter Jr. has proven the franchise wrong.
A key reason behind the Nuggets trading Porter Jr. was his inconsistent performance on the hardwood.
On the other hand, Johnson was viewed as a consistent player. However, so far, this season, Porter Jr. has absolutely outplayed Johnson.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michael Porter Jr. | BRK | 14 | 32.9 | 24.8 | 7.7 | 3.1 | 48.6% | 37.5% |
| Cameron Johnson | DEN | 14 | 26.5 | 8.6 | 2.9 | 2.1 | 41.3% | 30.0% |
The comparison shows how well Porter Jr. is playing this season compared to Johnson. But fans shouldn’t forget that MPJ is currently the primary scorer on the Nets.
On the other hand, Johnson is playing behind the dynamic duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
While Porter Jr. has the edge over Johnson, the same cannot be said when the Nuggets and Nets are compared.
On one hand, the Nuggets are currently the second seed in the Western Conference with a terrific 12-3 record. The Nets, on the other hand, have a 3-12 record and hold the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference.
The only silver lining for the Nets was the fact that they finally snapped their nine-game losing streak vs. the Boston Celtics.
All things considered, when the season is over, the Nuggets will likely enjoy another deep postseason run while Porter Jr. will be watching his former team from his home.
