Ex-NBA Player Reveals What Knicks, Tom Thibodeau Must Do During Offseason

The New York Knicks’ season came to an unfortunate end in the Eastern Conference Finals as they were unable to advance their way past the Indiana Pacers.

New York struggled to open the series as they lost both games at Madison Square Garden to fall into a 2-0 hole in the series.

They were then able to steal the first game on the road in Indiana before the Pacers took Game 4 to grab a commanding 3-1 lead.

Despite their victory in Game 5 to extend the series, the Knicks were unable to complete the comeback as they fell in Indiana once again in the Game 6, ending their season.

Now the Knicks have a crucial offseason ahead of them as they try to upgrade their roster and make another push for a championship next season.

As the Knicks enter the offseason, Lous Williams revealed what they and head coach Tom Thibodeau must do this summer.

“But at some point Thibs has to adjust in his coaching style in order for them to get over the hump and this is the summer they start having that conversation,” Williams said.

Williams clearly believes that it is time for Thibodeau to make a coaching adjustment, which fans have been calling for over the past few seasons.

Of course, Thibodeau has drawn criticism due to his coaching style of playing his players large minutes during the regular season, which then hurts them in the playoffs due to them being gassed.

That was once again the case during the playoffs this season as it was clear that New York’s lineup was not as fresh as Indiana’s, which ultimately led to their elimination.

Because of this, it may be time for Thibodeau to finally make a change to his coaching habits but for him to do so the Knicks will also need to upgrade their bench this summer.

If they do end up doing so and Thibodeau elects to change his ways, New York may be in prime position to compete for a championship next season.
