
The Boston Celtics are at home on Friday night as they host the New Orleans Pelicans in an interconference matchup.
Boston enters Friday’s game with a 54-26 record after losing on the road to the New York Knicks on Thursday night.
In Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics as he recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists while Payton Pritchard added 23 points, three rebounds and six assists of his own off the bench.
Now Boston will try to bounce back at home on Friday as they face off against a struggling Pelicans team.
On the other side, New Orleans enters Friday’s contest with a 26-54 record after defeating the Utah Jazz at home on Tuesday night.
In Tuesday’s victory over the Jazz, Jeremiah Fears led the way for the Pelicans as he ended the game with 40 points, five rebounds and six assists while Jordan Poole recorded 34 points and four assists.
While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Friday night’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.
For the Pelicans, they have eight players listed on their injury report, including both Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III.
New Orleans has ruled out Williamson due to right knee injury management as he will miss his second consecutive contest.

The Pelicans have also ruled out Murphy III due to a right ankle sprain as he will miss his third straight game.
Dejounte Murray (left hand contusion), Yves Missi (right hand and finger sprain) and Bryce McGowens (right small toe fracture) have also all been ruled out for Friday's game.
Saddiq Bey and Herbert Jones have both been listed as questionable due to rest while Karlo Matkovic is questionable due to low back injury management.
On the other side, the Celtics have five players listed on their injury report, including both Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Boston has ruled out Tatum due to right Achilles repair management as they will elect to sit him on the second night of their back-to-back.

The Celtics have listed Brown as questionable due to left Achilles tendinitis and he is in danger of missing his second consecutive contest.
Derrick White has been listed as probable and is expected to play despite dealing with a right knee contusion.
Neemias Queta has also been listed as probable due to a right toe sprain while Sam Hauser is probable with back spasms and both players are expected to play against the Pelicans.
