Former Bucks Center Brook Lopez Sends Final Message as He Continues With the Clippers

The Milwaukee Bucks lost veteran center Brook Lopez through free agency. The big man signed a two-year, $17.9 million contract to join the Los Angeles Clippers as a backup to Ivica Zubac. Lopez was part of the Bucks for seven years and was one of the most important players during their 2021 championship run.

However, the Bucks believed they could improve their starting center to help Giannis Antetokounmpo compete for another NBA title. Which they did, as they signed Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract after waiving Damian Lillard.

Lopez's signing to play in L.A. became official, and he had a message about his time with the Bucks on Monday.

Lopez was asked about his time in Milwaukee by The Athletic's Law Murray.

"I'm obviously [most] proud of winning a championship [while in Milwaukee], but I'm thankful to all the players that I played with, coaches and staff, PTs, strength and conditioning people, all the people that... put me in a position to be successful," Lopez said. "Those guys took care of me and we have such a special bound on the basketball court."

The one-time All-Star was one of the most reliable stretch fives while he was in Milwaukee. He was already on the older side (30 years old) when he joined the Bucks. But he was still a productive offensive player and a reliable rim protector.

Lopez appeared in 469 games for the franchise over seven years. He averaged 13.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks.
