Former Celtics great makes regrettable promise about Game 2

Boston Celtics great Paul Pierce was extremely confident about his old team's chances in Game 2 of its series with the New York Knicks. His bold promise might cost Pierce some embarrassment, not to mention sore feet.

Pierce promised the panel on FS1's "Speak" that if the Celtics lost Game 2, he would walk to work on Thursday.

"If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I'm walking here tomorrow," Pierce declared. "In my robe, no shoes on, bare feet...No shot we lose. No chance. You've got a better chance of walking out of this studio and seeing a dinosaur!"

Unfortunately for Pierce and his toes, the New York Knicks rallied from 20 points down to beat the Celtics in Boston, 91-90. The Celtics played like they were playing barefoot and wearing bathrobes down the stretch, getting outscored 23-6 in the last 8:30 of the game.

Pierce presumably did not take his advice and "Bet the house" on the Celtics, or at least the house is still in escrow. After the game, he posted a screenshot of walking directions from his home to the Fox Studios in Century City. It's only a 20.2-mile walk!

Should Pierce take the most direct route, which would send him through several parks and canyons, his estimated walking time would be just over eight hours. That's a brutal journey, but there's one silver lining for Pierce. Once he gets to the studio, he can try to see a dinosaur.
