Former LeBron James Teammate Doesn't Hold Back on What It's Really Like Playing With Him

LeBron James is one of the greatest players in NBA history. He's a four-time MVP, a four-time champion, a four-time Finals MVP and the leading scorer of all time.

James has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice), Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. He's the only player to rank top five all-time in points and assists.

The 40-year-old James has played with several stars, most notably Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic.

James has won a championship with every team he's played on.

Playing with James isn't always easy, though, especially for role players. Not because of him, but because of the media and fan pressure that comes with playing an NBA legend.

Danny Green, who played with James in Cleveland and Los Angeles, spoke about what it's really like playing with The King on the latest episode of "All the Smoke" with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

“He made the game very easy," Green said about James. "But there were also times when it wasn’t as easy because there’s so much pressure. Even if you’re wide open to execute the play. And that’s because you’re playing with LeBron James. That pressure is more from the outside than from the inside 'cause Bron ain’t putting that pressure on you.

"But all the LeBron fans are like, ‘Who’s this bum? Why is he playing with Bron?’ You know what I’m saying? So it’s a gift and a curse. But he made the game easy, man. It was a lot of fun learning from him early on, a lot of fun playing against him, and even better to play with him."

James and Green won the 2020 championship together on the Lakers. James and the Heat beat Green and the Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals, but Green and San Antonio got their revenge by winning the 2014 NBA Finals against James and Miami.
