The GOAT debate in the NBA nowadays tends to come down to two men: Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Jordan and James have separated themselves from the pack in the eyes of many, and heated debates rage on about who is actually the greatest basketball player of all time.
Former NBA star Joe Johnson had the fortune of playing against both Jordan and James and was asked on "Run It Back" on FanDuel TV to pick between the two. While some might have found it hard to choose one over the other, Johnson did not.
"I'm MJ all day, bro," Johnson said on Run It Back. "... I grew up watching Jumpman, MJ. I'm a huge fan and I felt he made the game sexy in some aspect and I just enjoyed it from the time I was probably about seven, eight years old."
Johnson grew up watching Jordan win six titles, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs and 10 scoring titles with the Chicago Bulls. Not only was he winning, but he was doing it in some style too, and won over Johnson as a result.
It's safe to say that regardless of what James achieves in these final years of his NBA career, Johnson is not going to side with him in this debate. The seven-time All-Star has picked his side and isn't going to budge.
While the older generations are on Team Jordan, the younger ones appear to be on Team James. NFL star Puka Nacua went with James as his GOAT over Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Much like Johnson, he isn't going to budge either.
