Former NBA Star Unleashes Vicious Rant Towards Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns

Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas just unleashed a disrespectful tirade against New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, targeting his physical build/appearance.

The rant, which came from the Gils Arena show, comes after the Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games. The outburst coincides with the overwhelming narrative about Towns’ defensive shortcomings, something he’s dealt with throughout his career, but a personal attack is unnecessary.

“It’s him, it’s his physical makeup,” Arenas said. “Long legs, short torso, big [expletive] feet. There’s nothing he can do, he’s built like a whole [expletive]. He’s built like a female. Am I saying something wrong? He’s built like a girl. He has girl hips. He’s like a full WNBA player.”

Despite the Knicks’ playoff exit, many fans around the league would argue that they overachieved this season, with Towns being a huge reason for that.

He was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves last October and delivered a phenomenal season where he averaged 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers across 72 games, shooting a career-high 42.0% from three.

His production led him to be an NBA All-Star for the fifth time in his career. He scored over 40 points in five games throughout the 2024-2025 season and his pick-and-roll efficiency with point guard Jalen Brunson led to a deep playoff run.

Arenas’ comments simply crossed the line. They reflect the ongoing scrutiny that Towns faces on the defensive side of the ball, however, Arenas should keep his analysis strictly related to the sport.

The Knicks had their best season in over 20 years and Towns making the All-NBA Third team proves his value to the roster.
