Recent comments have surfaced about Devin Booker and his perceived role in playing in Kevin Durant’s shadow during his time with the Phoenix Suns.
A former member of the Suns, Vasilije Micic, came out and spoke on the X’s and O’s podcast about the Suns and how the franchise star in Phoenix was second in line behind one of the NBA’s biggest superstars. Devin Booker was seemingly unable to take command of the Suns, as the leadership didn’t start with him.
“He was a bit in the shadow, but not in a bad way, because he really respects KD so much. He’s very much about the team, about involving all the players, but he couldn’t really come through because KD is way bigger than the whole story.”
Now with Kevin Durant in Houston, and Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks in Phoenix, is it time for Devin Booker to take the reins again? When Booker is in command of this Suns team, the sky was the limit. If Phoenix is able to get back to getting their face of the franchise back to being the main focus of this team, the Suns might be in a good position to make some noise.
