Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets for guard Jalen Green, forward Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in the 2025 NBA draft and five second-round picks in a blockbuster deal on Sunday.

Jalen Green was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 draft and averaged 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his latest season with the Rockets.

Despite posting strong numbers, Green showed periods of inconsistency, and the Rockets ultimately added Durant as the missing piece to make shots down the stretch.

In the Rockets' seven-game playoff series against the Golden State Warriors this year, Green failed to score double digits four times. However, he scored 38 points in a Game 2 victory.

Following the trade, former Suns player and two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas shared his thoughts on what is to come for Green and Phoenix on social media.

Phoenix features a deep backcourt as Green joins a rotation that includes Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

"Jalen green probably gonna get traded again. Does Brad stay with suns too??" wrote Thomas.

Although the Suns have not publicly disclosed their plans, they may look to make a move to better balance the roster, as Green, Booker and Beal all primarily play the shooting guard position.

Phoenix finished 11th in the Western Conference this season, missing the play-in tournament despite carrying the highest payroll in the NBA.

Despite the team's struggles, Durant earned his 15th All-Star selection and averaged 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.
