FOX Sports’ Nick Wright Reveals The Wild $2,000,000 Bet He Has Riding On The NBA Playoffs

The 2026 NBA playoffs have everybody paying close attention to every game. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves added spice to the postseason in the last 48 hours.

After the Timberwolves tied their second-round series against the San Antonio Spurs with a big performance from Anthony Edwards on Sunday, the Cavaliers did the same against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.

One of those teams has done enough to make people believe they can go all the way to win the NBA championship in June.

Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright explained he went to Las Vegas to watch a boxing fight when he decided to place a bet on the Timberwolves.

Nick Wright Bets On Minnesota Timberwolves To Win NBA Title

While he is more known as a poker player, Wight didn’t miss the chance to bet on the T-Wolves to try to make a $10K bet into a $2 million payout.

“They’re already in round two, and I’m like, ‘That’s just wrong, that can’t be right,’” Wright said when he saw the Timberwolves’ odds. “I check the betting odds, and all of the sports betting apps have between 150 to 200/1. That’s wrong. The Lakers are 28/1, have to play (the Thunder), they don’t have their best player. I saw five years ago Giannis (Antetokounmpo) suffer the same injury during Game 4 of the (Eastern) Conference finals. He started Game 1 of the Finals eight days later. I think Ant Edwards will play at some point this series.”

He needed to get clearance from casino authorities, though.

“I text Nick and Taylor, ‘Hey, I’m going to make this bet. A big bet. Do you guys want a piece?’ They can’t believe it either; they’re going back and forth,” he said.

“We want to see if they will take $10k to win $2 million. Everyone is skeptical that they will take that much. Whatever, we will start big and work backward from there.”

Wright told The New York Post he could have sold the ticket for $65,000, but he refused to do so. The Timberwolves could leave Frost Bank Center with a 3-2 lead and put Wright closer to $2 million.
