Giannis Antetokounmpo has been subject of a lot of NBA media attention this offseason. Antetokounmpo has been enjoying the local food as well. It’s always nice to see a star athlete enjoying a more simple life when in another nation.

Antetokounmpo’s visit to Brazil appears to have been inspired by a Twitter interaction with Eduardo Paes, the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro. It started when the Bucks superstar suggested a foreign city be the host for an NBA All-Star Game.
2027 All star game should be in Rio de Janeiro or in a city in China! https://t.co/lzBFu9CXFD

After mentioning Rio de Janeiro by name, the city’s mayor was quick to reply to Giannis, extending an invitation to visit.
Dear @Giannis_An34 , Rio is more than ready to host an All Star Game! It will be a honor to have you guys around. And we certainly know how thrown a party ! Let’s do it! https://t.co/cxgSxmF2PM
