Giannis Antetokounmpo set himself apart once again in the Milwaukee Bucks ’ 122-116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. In 38 minutes, he delivered a commanding performance with 31 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, and one block. He was nearly unstoppable, shooting 11-of-14 from the floor, a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range, and 7-of-12 from the line.

Per ESPN Insights, Antetokounmpo etched his name in the record books with another dominant double-double. He became the first player in NBA history to open a season with 60 points, 30 rebounds, and 10 assists across his first two games.

Following an offseason full of trade rumors surrounding the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo has opened the 2025-26 season in historic form, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 2-0 start with their recent win over the Toronto Raptors.

It was a tightly contested matchup from start to finish. Milwaukee set the tone early in the opening quarter, but Toronto responded with a strong second period. The game stayed neck-and-neck heading into the fourth, with both teams tied at 86. In the final stretch, the Bucks pulled ahead, outscoring the Raptors 36-30 to secure the win.

Five Milwaukee players hit double figures, with Antetokounmpo leading the way. Newly added guard Cole Anthony made a strong impact off the bench, recording 23 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. He shot 9-of-14 from the floor and 2-of-5 from three, delivering an energetic performance that gave Bucks fans plenty to look forward to.

Gary Trent Jr. chipped in 20 points and four assists, with Ryan Rollins contributing 13 points and five boards. Bobby Portis added steady production as well, finishing with 11 points and eight rebounds to help complete Milwaukee’s well-rounded team performance.

Rebounding and outside shooting ultimately swung the game in Milwaukee’s favor. The Bucks dominated those aspects, pulling down 51 rebounds and sinking 14 shots from beyond the arc. The Raptors couldn’t keep pace, finishing with just 41 rebounds and 11 made threes.

The Bucks now shift their focus to the next challenge on the road, where they’ll face the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 26 at 6 p.m. ET.
