The Nets still have not made a decision on whom their next head coach will be since firing Kenny Atkinson, but Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks provided an update on the situation on Wednesday.
Nets GM Sean Marks on the team's coaching search: "No we are not reaching out to anyone right now. That would completely be not fair to our group."

Marks says he has been pleased with how Jacque Vaughn and his staff have been in contact with players during the pandemic.
While Marks admitted the Nets aren't reaching out to anyone at the moment, he did say he will consult players like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant when the time comes. However, he said the decision ultimately is up to himself, the front office and ownership.
Asked if he'd consult KD & Kyrie on the next #Nets coach, Marks said they’ve always collaborated w/ players, from the draft to free agency. “Ultimately Im not going to put that decision on any 1, 2, 4 or 5 players; it’s going to come down to myself, the front office & ownership"

Following Atkinson's firing, the Nets decided to make former assistant coach Jacque Vaughn the interim head coach.
With the coronavirus sweeping the nation, it makes sense that Marks will not search for a new head coach, especially considering the NBA season may not even resume this season due to COVID-19.
The Nets currently sit seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 30-34 record, but if the NBA season does resume, they'll be without Irving and Durant in the postseason.
