The Phoenix Suns are looking to be active at the trade deadline. With a subpar 25-24 record and Play-In Tournament pace, they are looking to strike some deadline deals.
Jimmy Butler was one player the club eagerly wanted to trade for. He demanded a trade from the Miami Heat and has been keen on wanting out of South Beach.
A Suns trade for Butler is decreasingly less likely as Phoenix would need Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause.
Recent reports suggest that Beal would rather remain in The Valley -- though a contending situation is one he would waive the clause for.
However, the Suns want to include Beal in a trade for Butler, which would mean a "mega-deal" would have to come.
To ensure a move is made, the Suns have been taking calls regarding a trade for Kevin Durant, with Devin Booker being the only player on the squad not available on the trade block.
The Golden State Warriors, desperately in need of a co-star for Stephen Curry, were on the phone looking to return Durant to the team after he won two NBA titles with them back in the day.
Reports indicate Durant doesn't want to return after how his injuries were handled during his time in the Bay Area, on top of not wanting to team up with Draymond Green again.
While Durant doesn't have a no-trade clause, the Warriors don't want to trade for a disgruntled star, taking them out of the pursuit of the 36-year-old forward.
"Kevin Durant doesn’t have a no-trade clause but the Golden State Warriors do not want to bring in a disgruntled superstar. An organization desperate to pair Stephen Curry with a peer of his caliber is running out of options," Haynes reported.

It simply doesn't make sense for the Suns to want to move their future first-ballot Hall of Fame forward, especially because they won't replace his on-court production.
The Warriors are seemingly out of the race, though, and they seem to be pivoting just ahead of the deadline.
