The Golden State Warriors will have the oldest starting lineup in the league as they try to win the 2026 NBA title.
The average age of the Golden State Warriors starting five coming into the season is 35.8, with Stephen Curry, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Al Horford expected to start.
There are a lot of question marks about this Warriors team coming in and if they can sustain success with an aging roster.
However, the Warriors do have some interesting young players who they could include in a trade for a young star.
If the Warriors see that Horford as their starting center doesn’t work out, they might have to make a drastic change.
Someone who could be on the Warriors’ radar is Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.
Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints made it clear that if Adebayo ever did request a trade, the Warriors would have significant interest.
“Bam Adebayo is another All-Star in the East who would be at the top of the Warriors’ list of potential trade targets if he were to ever request a trade from the Miami Heat, sources said.”
If the Warriors did trade for Adebayo, they would likely have to pay a steep price to obtain him.
The Warriors could have an interesting trade chip in Jonathan Kuminga, who the team just signed to a new two-year deal.
Even though the deal has just been signed, there is already a lot of speculation that the Warriors could look to trade Kuminga once he’s trade eligible on January 15.
Theoretically, the Warriors could put together a trade package that includes Kuminga and Moses Moody with filler to acquire Adebayo.
Of course, this would all be dependent on the value Kuminga is able to show early in the season and if the Heat even want to trade Adebayo.
However, if the Heat struggle this season, they could look to tear it down and trade their star center for some young pieces who can help their future.
