Golden State Warriors Honor Stephen Curry's Career Milestone, One Number Stands Out and It’s Not 4,000

On March 13, Stephen Curry reached an NBA milestone that might never be shared by anyone else. In a win over the Sacramento Kings, Curry drilled his 4,000th career 3-pointer, building on a more than 800-shot lead over James Harden for the most makes from deep in league history.

After making shot number 4,000, players from the Golden State Warriors and legends from around the league sent messages and tributes to the greatest to ever do it, but one simple video message stood out thanks to a jaw-dropping number.

4,000 is a lot of 3-pointers. Not many people fully understand what it took to get to that record. Curry holds five of the top six seasons with the most made 3s ever, and his mark of 402 in 2015-16 hasn't been rivaled.

Curry has made more shots from deep than Hall of Famers Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman made during their entire careers. Granted, both of those players were defensive-minded, but they both played several productive seasons.

To honor Curry, the Warriors posted a video on their YouTube channel of every shot he has ever made from behind the arc. Somehow, that video is over seven hours long.

Each shot is really only the shot; there isn't much "fluff" like dribbling or an entire play leading up to him pulling the trigger. A conservative estimate would guess that Curry has spent over five hours on an NBA court during a game actively in shooting form or watching the ball fly.

Of course, that doesn't begin to factor into the countless hours that went on behind the scenes to make such a milestone possible.
